An Antique Cinnabar Chinese carved tea jar. Carved in high relief with figures in a garden landscape. Some carved flowers on the lid and shoulder of the jar.

5 6 7/8" x 1/4". Condition: VG, some age wear to the surface

Provenance: The Estate of Giraud V. Foster.

Fine George III Octagonal Cellarette or Wine Cooler in mahogany with brass banding, having a hinged lid opening to a tin liner, slightly tapered body with brass carrying handles and the original stand with four champfered legs. English, circa 1780.

Originally used in the dining room to hold wine brought up from the cellar for the meal, the tin liner would have protected the wood from the condensation from the bottles. Now often used as an occasional or end table...

Antique oval pressed and engraved crystal dresser box with gilt metal mounts. Probably French, Circa 1900.

EARLY SEA CAPTAIN’s LONG GLASS. Especially nice hand-held telescope made by the London maker T. Lorkin, as beautifully engraved in script near the eyepiece, “T. Lorkin, London, Day or Night.” This fine, olde English example has an early form single draw with wooden barrel and brass fittings. The wooden barrel is turned of a single piece of solid mahogany. The all original four lens optics produce a highly magnified, upright image of surprising clarity...

Rare antique Chinese Famille Rose covered mustard pot and under tray with typical painted decoration and applied bud form knob. Circa 1860 (minor wear to gilt decoration).**

Antique Regency Black Lacquer Tea Caddy of sarcophagus form with polychrome and gilt Chinoiserie decoration having a stepped lid opening to two covered compartments, pressed brass carrying handles and paw form feet.

English, circa 1810 (minor losses to painted decoration)

Exceptional George III bachelor’s chest in nicely figured mahogany with good color and patina, having a rectangular, cross banded top above an oak brushing slide and four graduated drawers flanked by canted, reeded corners and raised on straight bracket feet. Unusual Wood Tea Caddy or Tobacco Box in the form of a doghouse with brass nails and door surround and with a brass dog sitting outside. It opens by gently lowering the dog's hinged head which releases the peaked roof form lid which opens to a tin lined interior. The whole is mounted on a plinth base with brass beading. Circa 1870, probably Black Forest.
