Rare 18th-century Bilbao mirror; carved and gilt wood and stone, having a rectangular beveled mirror plate flanked by engaged stone and marble columns and an arched cornice. Originally shipped from Spain, these mirrors are also thought to have been produced in America. Circa 1780-90. Frame size: 25” x 13.5”

Exceptional Classical Gilded Wood and Gesso Convex Mirror, having wonderful, sculptural, scrolling, vine decoration. American or English, circa 1820-1830. Convex, round mirrors in the early 19th century evolved from the Renaissance tradition and french prototypes of the 18th century. Important Antique English Gilt Wood and Composition Girandole Mirror, the oval mirror plate within a leaf carved surround and within mirrored borders with crossed vine-form decoration.
